officially on vacation...

today starts vacation number one for the year; officially. for the next two weeks, we will be kickin' it at bonnaroo with folks like michael franti & spearhead, the police, tool, ben harper & the innocent criminals, dave attel, clutch, ziggy marley, and so many others.
my folks will be here at the house watching the bean while we're there...but now we kinda regret not planning to take her, since there now will be family camping areas.
after that, we're all hitting the backcountry (either shenandoah or somewhere else). we've been busting hump around the house (finally) getting some much needed schtuff done...like finishing drywall, painting, getting blinds for our bare-ass windows, furniture to keep all the junk we have collected in/on, finally getting the garden tilled, ...and so on (didn't take any pictures of the fruits of our labor yet...but I will). so, we are long overdue for some solitude disconnected from the everyday distractions (i.e-cell phones, macs, laptops, pda's, blogs; all of it)...

There is no defense against an open heart and a supple body in dialogue with wildness. Internal strength is an absorption of the external landscape. We are informed by beauty, raw and sensual...Clouds gathering. Rain falling. Rivers raging. Lakes rising.
